![]() Chiaotzu does it a couple more times he misses and slams into the ground and Krillin also holds Chiaotzu's head so he could not attack.Ĭhiaotzu has another attack where he holds out his hands and makes Krillin feel like his stomach is on fire. Krillin gets hit by it a couple of times and tries it himself, but he was not good at it. ![]() Chiaotzu starts to do his special technique where he spins around and flies at Krillin head first. When he gets back to the ring Krillin lands a couple of good punches. Chiaotzu goes flying backward in a spiral, but he uses his flying technique right before he hits the ground. Suddenly, Krillin appears behind Chiaotzu and blasts the Kamehameha right at him. The blast creates a smokescreen and, when it clears, Krillin is gone. They charge up both of their attacks, with Chiaotzu firing the Dodon Ray and Krillin dodging it. At the end of the episode, Chiaotzu started to form a Dodon Ray and Krillin was charging a Kamehameha. It didn’t match up with the tone of the episode and was downright creepy by the time his scenes ended. On the last episode, Krillin started his fight with Chiaotzu. I can appreciate that his character is trying to grow, but sitting there watching him basically assaulting Puar felt very wrong. This week, we saw him reach out to Yamcha and Puar in an attempt to try to clear his mind of these thoughts. He has always been a pervy old man and, if used sparingly, it can be funny. Master Roshi is once again at the center of the less than desirable parts of Episode 91. When push comes to shove, can our heroes in Universe 7 really sacrifice the noble, kind-hearted heroes of the other universes? In the short term, this approach gives us teams to cheer for when the fighting starts, but it’s the long term pay off that’s the true reward. This act clearly sets the tone that these people are evil, while Toppo and Universe 11 are shown as being incredibly kind, almost to a fault. The scene with Universe 9 was a clear example of this, as they casually blow up a city because it’s rioting and uncooperative. What struck me most about these scenes is how it painted them as either good or evil. Various hero reactions were also well emphasized in this episode. It’s nice when moments like this come along and we can see how different people are coming to grips with the situation. ![]() ![]() Issues that surround the civilian populace are rarely addressed in Dragon Ball. I particularly liked how society in Universe 9 was collapsing under the information, but then we see later how another Universe is having open recruitments for the Tournament of Power and their society is none the wiser. I thought it was great then to see what happens when the populace has varying levels of information and the affect it has on them. Most of our time is spent in Universe 7, where the populace has no idea about what our heroes are doing. The reactions to the upcoming tournament in different universes were also quite well done. If each universe is connected to another, like how 6 and 7 are connected, what does that mean for their power levels? It has me asking a lot of questions about the balance of power between the universes, so I hope this is something they continue to expand on going forward. One of the best parts about this episode is the duality of certain universes. Although not every universe felt very compelling, taking this time to check in on them was a wise choice, and helps us learn how they compare to our heroes in Universe 7. The Tournament of Power draws closer by the minute as Episode 91 highlights how well, or poorly, the other universes are using their time. ![]()
